K-418 is a multi-layer strctured high molecular weight foaming processing aid made by (methyl) methacrylate copolymer, from a multi-step emulsion polymerization. It can be applied to PVC foam processes, such as free foam, celuka foam, co-extrusion foam, etc. This product is more favorable for the general applications like PVC foam boards, pipes or profiles.
K-418 offers the following benefits:
- Low density · Excellent surface gloss
- Uniform cell structure · Outstanding melt strength enhancement

Improve fusion behavior
K-418 could improve the PVC fusion behavior greatly and make PVC fusion more uniformly, which further improve the surface gloss and finishing product quality. As shown in Fig.1, K-418 could accelerate the PVC fusion.
Improve PVC melt cohesion and uniformity
As shown in Fig.2, K-418 increases the torque efficiently, therefore improves the cohesion and uniformity of PVC melt; which will generate much more compact PVC poducts.
Strengthen PVC melt
K-418 gives the higher melt strength which allows more gas to be retained and prevents coalescence of cells. This provides more uniform cell structure, lower density and a better surface finish.
Safe Handing Recommendations
K-418 should be kept away from flames, hot pipes, heaters or other sources of heat. Adequate precautions should be taken to keep all dust levels below values that are hazardous to health and safety. In case of eye or skin contact, eyes should be flushed with water to remove dust particles and affected skin areas washed with soap and water.
